10 miles!

These distances are starting to get serious, people! We ran 10 miles today, in the rain! We felt so hard core. Since we're not the fastest bunch of runners, sometimes I wish all runners had a little ticker that hovered over their heads and showed how far they've run and the elevation they've gained. I know lots of runners who pass us would have tickers just us high or higher, but a lot would be smaller numbers, and that would make me feel good. But, that's dumb. I actually feel fine about my pace and feel great about the distance! I love the feeling of completing a TEN MILE RUN and still being able to walk for the rest of the day. Admittedly, my legs were very sore by the end of the run. I could make a list of everything that was sore, but it would feel whiny. Suffice it to say every joint associated with legs was sore, plus some other things too. The route was beautiful, with great views of the bay, and was surprisingly hilly (I forgot to look at the elevation profile first, and it had about six decent sized hills!). So, hooray for 10 miles!

As for other exercise things, last night I did a video on youtube called Island Girl Workouts--Tahitian Hip Hop. It was really fun moving my hips like that! It'd be fun to have one of those skirts to really accentuate the movements, though I'd have to find something else to wear on top.

AND...soccer started back up this week! Our first game was rainy and only lasted an hour, but it was soooooooo fun! I spent the whole game playing mid-field, starting off at center then switching over to the left after subbing out. Man I love that game! I even got to take a shot from kind of far back, but I didn't really have time to set it up, so it went a couple feet too far to the left. Oh well. The final score was 1-1. Good way to start the season! Fun all around for everyone.
