12 miles down...

My keyboard is missing 7 keys and several others are loose, so typing is a pain. Bear with me if some of my typos go unnoticed...

So...Saturday was another looooooong run! We did the same route as the previous week, with a little addition in the middle to make it a mile longer. That really is a very nice route! A couple of my friends' husbands met us at various points along the way with water and gatorade, which was AWESOME! We ran a tidge over 12 miles, and I felt like I could have kept going if I needed to. I think we're finally starting to get to the point where it's largely mental to keep ourselves running. By the end, our legs and feet have been hurting for a while, but getting close to the end makes us feel like we can't go for much longer. I think the fig newtons I've been eating during the run have been really helpful... And, of course, the water! Our overall pace was 10:49, which isn't bad considering we weren't pushing the pace at all AND we had some hills for the first few miles. I've been debating with myself whether or not I should post the routes we run, and I just have to! Here is the 12 mile route we ran. Doesn't that look so long??

I wore my old shoes for this run because my new ones are still pretty stiff. I might try the new ones this Saturday, now that my feet and legs feel like they're adjusting and are a little less sore from the transition. I really wish my old shoes were still being sold!

Tonight I'll be going to The Sport Authority to stock up on my running needs, like body glide, to avoid chafing, and maybe a running skirt! And some nice running socks.

Now, on to 13 this Saturday!
