New Shoes

Well, I decided it was time to buy some new running shoes. My current shoes, Nike Zoom Nucleus MC+, have been wonderful, but my legs are starting to protest even on shorter runs. I'm hoping it's because these shoes are past their prime. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm not working on creating an injury. We'll see. I originally thought I would get new shoes and alternate between the two pairs so that the older pair can gradually exit the running scene, but once I got the new pair and tried them on, the old pair felt like slippers in comparison, which is great for just walking around in, but as far as support while running is concerned, not so good. Especially for me, since I have pretty severe overpronation and need motion control shoes, which make me look a bit handicapped. Seriously. The new shoes I got are last year's model, so they were on clearance.

Here's the nice view of my new shoes, Saucony Progrid Stabil CS:

And here you can see what this shoe is really all about:

Gotta keep those ankles in line! Upon first trying them on, the upper feels so stiff, but I think that will be good for me to keep my feet from moving around so much because my ankles really like to roll inward! The shoes still felt nice and light for the 3 steps I was able to run from living room to doorway AND even for the 3 steps back. I'll take them out for a trial run on Monday and then we'll really know how they are.

I seriously wish I could join you and your friends. Nobody here will run with me!

I am proud of you!
